FAQ: What is a digital stamp?
Mo's digital stamps are simply original illustrations hand-drawn personally by me, Mo Manning. You "print" right at your computer using your word processing or graphics software and any printer -- instead of dipping a rubberized version into ink and stamping.
Every illustration in my shop was drawn specifically for OOAK (One of a Kind) card-makers to use in their hand-made and hand-colored projects that they intend to sell, donate or give away. These are exactly the same techniques and resolution that I send to my publishers to have made into traditional stamps -- or to be printed in my children's trade books. (Find more about me and my books here at my illustration site.)
What is so great about digital prints?
- You can easily resize and even flip the images.
- You can merge stamps together (using any graphics program)
- No rubber manufacturing costs = lower prices!
- Never any shipping costs, you can buy these from anywhere in the world, download and have them instantly.
FAQ: Why don't you make the images as JPEGs anymore?
JPEGs are okay for photos, but the format isn't high enough quality for black and white line drawings. PNG is a much better format for black and white line. In addition, I can make the background of an image "transparent" which allows crafters to easily merge images together to create a scene. Please check out this video tutorial I made for people new to PNGs. It shows you how to use the free, web-based software "Pixlr Editor" with PNGs. FAQ: What am I buying?
You are purchasing a LICENSE for
yourself only to use my copyrighted black and white image on your handmade, hand colored projects. This license is for sales of hand-made cards and projects with my image as an element only (no digital or mechanical reproduction, no sales of simply "framed and painted images" or unembellished toppers) (
See my policy for exact terms of use)
When you purchase an image, you receive download links via an email (and in your account information on Mo's Digital Pencil shop) for digital files that you unzip and print from your computer. Please remember, digital stamps are black and white images. Color samples in my shop are for watermark purposes only. Please
email me if you have any questions. :)
FAQ: How Do I Pay?
My shop accepts Paypal, e-checks through Paypal, and Credit Cards. (Paypal processes credit cards for my shop, but you do not need a Paypal account to use your credit card.) If you can not use any of these methods, the only other option is to pay a friend to purchase a gift certificate for you.
FAQ: How do I get my stamps?
1. Look for an email from my shop with download links (check your spam folder if you don't see it)
2. You can also access your download links from your Mo's account info. Click on the Account button at the top right of the page
3. You get 5 downloads or 1 year -- whichever comes first. If you have trouble downloading your images for the first time, just
email me for help.
4. Make sure to SAVE the file onto your hard drive. Do not simply "Open" the file. If your computer is trying to automatically open when you click the link, Right Click on the link instead and choose to save.
DO NOT FORGET TO BACK UP YOUR FILES IN CASE OF YOUR COMPUTER FAILING. Believe me, it happens, and I am unable to reset expired links. I have asked BigCommerce to add this feature but they tell me it is not an option right now!!! So please back up!!
FAQ: How do I open this file I just downloaded?Once you have saved the zip file to your computer, you'll need to "unzip" it before you can use it. On a Windows machine, just rght click on your zip file and choose "Extract All." A new folder will be created with your jpg file in it. Drag that jpg (or import it through the menu) into your word processing or graphics software to resize and print.)
Always save your zip file to a folder on your computer where you can easily find it again. (I keep mine on a folder called
Mo Stampin on my desktop)
Also MAKE SURE to to keep a backup file somewhere safe, like on a
flash drive, external drive or rewriteable CDROM.
You are responsible for keeping your data safe and you should be doing this for ALL the information on your computer, including your images.
How Do I Print?
You need to bring your jpeg into your word processing, photo editing or graphics software before you can resize.
With MS Word, for example (which most people already have):
1. Open a new file in Word
2. Drag your jpeg image file into your opened Word File (or import image from the menu.)
3. Click on the image once it's in Word -- it will highlight
(hold Shift down so your image doesn't distort.) Just grab a corner to resize.
4. PRINT!
